Going through the college shuffle looking for general opinions on the Indiana universities in area. South bend in particular. Anyone have any input or advise on this college for a 1st year freshman? Pricing is very reasonable to get the basic courses out of the way but anyone have opinions on the school?? the location? people? and general feel of campus.
Its really hard to just visit a campus for 1 day and get a feel of it. We have been to Purdue, Notre Damn, Indiana U/ bloomington, Univ of Indianapolis and IUPUI, just trying to talk in all opinions on colleges in area, getting best bang for the $ for 1st year fresh and then may consider transferring into the 2nd year.
Just need your thoughts on schools in area. NW Indiana

Not being from the Midwest, I know that Indiana U and Purdue are well known and nationally ranked. VP Pence is alumni of IU school of law.

Not in South Bend, but have you considered Valparaiso University?

What do you plan to major in? IU and Notre Dame are well known for business. Purdue and Valpo are well known for engineering. Butler and IUPUI are Indianapolis based and have good programs. There’s many other majors all offer. My suggestion is look into who recruits at the school’s regularly and whether that aligns with what you think you’d like to do.
