From my understanding what the Fed goverment has done is failed to pass another extension, so if you've exhausted the states orginal 9 months and went into the extensions, you could lose the extended monies. But, if you're still just recieving the original state $$, you should be OK, until it runs out.

If some one had been working for 15 years for a particular finance company in honolulu and was laid off, how many years of unemployment benefits is this person entitled to?

26 weeks under Hawaii unemployment. if the feds extend unemployment it may be as much as 99 weeks depending on how long the extension is, but regular unemployment is only 26 weeks right now.
It really varies from place to place in the country, and it may change, depending on what Congress does in the next couple of weeks. Here are some articles on the subject:

Aloha Cat,
If you have been laid off...I am truly sorry to hear that. I think Hawaii has one of the highest weekly benefits in the country, but it all depends on what your previous salary was.

Good luck!
