Larry - I just sent you an email. Things are going fine. We had a real nice dinner at the clubhouse with several who are on this forum... John (who started this thread -- thanks, John!), Robert, and Babara and her husband... we really had a nice (but a little hot) evening. By the way, you were mentioned ... hoping that the next time, you'll be able to join us.

Suzette,

John emailed me and said that he thought the group was getting together at Pavarotti's at 6 P.M. on Wednesday for pizza. Anyone know about this?

Barbara and Larry ...We really enjoyed having dinner with you all yesterday. Morif (on this forum) is planning on coming down sometime this month - so another new person to meet from this thread! He is looking for a Hanover or Johnstown resale - so if you hear of anything, let him know.

Ronna and I had a great time. Just got my computer and internet service today or I would have written sooner. We are going back home on Tuesday but will be back for a few days in October and then in November we will be down for the winter.

Too many resales? Keep in mind that older people live in gated communities. They get sick, they miss their kids; they miss their old friends, they need someone to take care of them, so they move back north, or wherever. And of course they die. Singles decide to live together and sell one of their homes. Some lack the finances to keep paying their mortgage. Some homes are under water (owe more than the home is worth) so there is a short sale or a foreclosure. Of course some just want a smaller home, or a larger home (that was my reason for selling).

Of course I keep hearing that next year the foreclosures will really start happening. I hope not. Unemployement will be over 10% through 2011. So I would really check the numbers before I would commit to buying a home at this time. I certainly would not advise anyone to purchase a new home before they sell their present one.

Florida used to be a place where it was really inexpensive to live but those days are gone forever.

Jake

BGMiami, OcalaGala et al:

Sorry I missed the latest gathering. Don't forget me on the next one.

BTW, don't know if you saw it but there is going to be a Labor Day Buffet on September 7 with the usual hot dogs, burgers, etc. I know I'll be there.

Nope - not so. It is open to the public. I just called and verified this.

There is some confusion as the event was never advertised. But fliers are available at the Grille. I think that after my call they will add it in their ad on the portal.

Sounds good Barbara. I think you need to reserve - so call the Grille if you do want to attend. I'm already booked with the Sociable Singles but will be checking if other folks I know are there.

I've been telling folks about it since there has been no advertising of the event as yet (other than fliers at the Grille.)
