I will be relocating to the Cincy area in a few months, all the homes that are in my price range are in Franklin and Middletown. Does any one know what is the racial make up of the population and are these areas safe? Are these towns growing or dying out?

The racial make up of both cities is HIGH in the 90 percentile's for Caucasians.

Before we bought in the south eastern part of midd town, we looked in Franklin and I noticed just like many of the South Dayton areas there was few blacks.

Sometimes it can be discouraging but hey thats just how it is and will be. it would be nicer for some diversity.

Middletown is set up very segregated. MOST blacks live in one concentrated area.

As far as growth. You wont find anything like what is going on in parts of Warren county and Butler county. Name brand business's are not flocking too either towns.

it is really dead on the western part of Middletown I might add. few stores for people to buy good healthy food. not much in job opportunity too. But hey what do you expect from small towns?

There are some very nice quiet spots in both cities if you are looking for that in a home. I have found some gems just driving around both.

On the safety in a area, look at it this way.. The cheaper the home , the more increase for crime. Don't think so? All you have to do is survey cities and communities in Butler county to see for yourself.

I don't know much about Franklin other than that it is almost all-white but I can tell you that there is little to nothing to offer you in Middletown, but if you want to live in the larger community, then that should be your choice.
