Northwest Ohio Church Festival Kid's Games
I am the co-chair for a rather large church festival children's games tent. Having literally only been to this festival for about 2 hours last year, I was wondering if folks who have kids have an opinion on their favorite festival games. We have several games that we have done for years, and some data from the ladies that ran it last year, but I am looking to see if there is something great that we are missing.
Any thoughts? They would be greatly appreciated!

June 26, 27 and 28. Should be warm, but we have the school auditorium to work in, so that is a blessing! Closer to the beer tent, wouldn't be too bad either though!

Ok, that's hot summertime then. That helps to know. I know there is one where you take bottles, (plastic) and put a ping pong ball on the top and let the kiddo's shoot water pistols to knock them off. They love that. Any water gun games is a winner in summertime.
We'll be thinking..

There is no way they will let you have any water games inside of the school auditorium. It looks like you will be stuck with ring toss, and a chuck-a-luck wheel. How about listing some of the stuff you already have.
The nickel pitch is always a big money maker at festivals that I attend.

Okay, this one sounded fun to me, and may work inside. I copied it for you. What do you think?

Stumps Tug-of-War
The strongest might think they'll rule this tug-of-war game. But just watch what happens when they yank their rope too hard against a wily opponent.
WHAT YOU NEED: Two stumps or milk crates 30-foot length of rope
HOW TO PLAY:
1. Set up two stumps (upside-down milk crates) about 6 to 12 feet apart. Lay the 30-foot length of rope between the stumps, leaving the surplus rope coiled at both ends.
2. The players, standing on the stumps, pull or relax the rope, trying to get the other to lose his or her balance and step off. Might is not always right here. A hard tug can be neutralized by a loosened grip?and the sudden slack can make the tugger teeter.
TIPS:
Make sure to play this on a soft surface in case someone takes a tumble. If a smaller person is playing against a much bigger person, try having the bigger one stand on one foot, or have a spottler help the little one control the rope. If you really want to have fun on a hot summer's day, build a few gooey mud pits around the stumps. Just don't forget to have the hose handy.

MaryBeth--
I think that I like the waterguns and the ping pong ball.... I think that the floor to the auditorium is tile, and I wonder if we set it up in a kiddie poll on top of a tarp????
I like the tug-of -war, but maybe more for field day....
South Range--
Tell me the nickle toss.... Do they bring their own nickels??? And we get to keep 'em!!!!
Thanks for suggestions!!! Keep 'em coming!
(And please notice that I worked NW OH in the title!!!)

Nickel pitch is plywood 4' wide 12' long. There are a few hundred colored dots in rows. There are 3 black dots in the center, they pay out the most. People toss nickels trying to land on a dot. Different colors pay out fixed amounts. You keep the nickels. Your local fire department, or church probably gas one to loan you. Carnival Games
