I buy a lot of NEW stuff off both Amazon and Ebay. Like I said, there are a lot of vendors that use both. Amazon will charge sales tax. So far, Ebay won't.

I was charged a sales tax last week when I bought for an Oklahoma City based seller.

I buy a lot off Amazon, especially more specialty items. There aren't a lot of specialty stores in Cushing. If they add sales tax, I still will. I value the range of choices. I also buy from Walmart online, but dislike their search system as it's confusing. I prefer certain brands too, and sometimes you can't get all of one product compared. I have more than once quit looking and gone to Amazon.

I also have Amazon Prime. It will still save me a lot with or without tax. I also enjoy their wonderful streaming service and buy a number of hard to find items. Largely, I use Walmart online to buy the dry staples for the month and get them delivered as the one in town gets empty spots if you shop late, as I usually get a ride for.

What I want is my sales tax to go ONLY to education and not any of to services to any oil concern who practices fraking.

I agree about Wal-Mart's website. It comes to a screeching halt for me. I used to occasionally order from them but I can't get past the home page lately. It simply locks up.

Basically, amazon reliably replaces a lot of other stores with quality products, so if I have to pay sales tax, its still very worth it.

I've had that problem with Walmart. I only get pet food there now, and occasionally groceries. But since I buy those things, the nice helpful pictures pop up from my brousing history and I don't have to navigate their sometimes odd catagories.

I'd guess they'd charge tax on Kindle or not depending on the wording of the law and what it exempts.

I'm pretty bummed about the new sales tax, but have been expecting for a long time. It won't stop me from shopping on Amazon. I shop on Amazon all the time. I even buy my dog food on Amazon. It's always $7-11 a bag cheaper than it is in a brick and mortar store and with Prime, it's delivered on my doorstep with no delivery charge in 2 days. I just hope that a some point we get the 2 hour delivery option. I have a son that lives in a city where it's available. We were there visiting him over Christmas and used it. It was great.
