Legal dope and strong beer...………. You just might be able to survive living in Oklahoma after all.

Looks like Question 788 passed by a wide margin. Now we will see what the Oklahoma legislature tries to do to change it or delay it.

State Question 788

This should embolden the US Congress to finally deal with this.

Don't get your hopes up! In NV, medical marijuana was approved by the voters in the year 2000 and the first dispensary didn't open up until 2014! Endless delays!

That sure as hell wouldn't shock me the way things go in this state.

I think you underestimate how conservative NV and Las Vegas are, underneath the neon and glitter.

Tick Segerblom came to the rescue finally: he finally passed a law whereby Clark County (home of Las Vegas) was to have 40 dispensaries by the end of that year, and 40 in the rest of the state, and if they couldn't come to any agreements, then if you weren't within 25 miles of a dispensary, you could grow x amount in your house, which would have been a nightmare for the police, thinking grow houses.

At first, the mayors of both Las Vegas and Henderson and Mesquite and North Las Vegas (separate city) said No Way Jose, but when they learned of the 25 mile distance, they had no choice but to open them.

When NV legalized recreational marijuana, he did the same thing, he gave the cities a year to decide or else.

Your best hope is that the state is really hard up for revenue, and they'll welcome the added revenue.

Roll, roll, roll a joint, take out the stems and seeds, take a toke, don't you choke, life is but a dream!

I know years ago and marijuana possession was a major felony in Nevada.

Back in 2004 I sold a house to someone from Nevada that drove down for the closing and had a marijuana leaf right on his drivers license. I believe before the dispensaries you could grow your own plants there. 14 years is a joke.

I am sure there will be delays and changes to what the voters approved. Two years ago voters passed a proposal making all drug posession a misdemeanor. The politicians tried to delay it and angry protests forced them to get it done. Just this week several state GOP lost their primaries because they voted against teacher raises. I don't think Oklahomans will put up with needless delays.

I am shocked that such a backwards thinking state has come somewhat to their senses. But I really think the money is the source of the approval. I very much approve of it though.
