I'm guessing a legal contract granting power of attorney or something to that effect would have changed the outcome of that.

And if you don't want to discuss it, then don't. You have freedom to choose not to speak. I'm not here to take YOUR rights away.
I never said you didn't have the right to discuss this (although the owner of this message board is under no obligation to provide you this platform of discussion, so freedom of speech doesn't apply, but that is neither here nor there). I questioned the purpose of your needlessly inflammatory post, to which you seem to have no answer.

bighuser, Just this subject period has to be the stupidest thing I have ever seen. When this thread runs its course he will think of another subject to bring it back....

I don't know if "he" was me or not...but you're right. Let's call this horse dead already.

Doesn't matter if you're gay or not.

Gays can and do server in the military.

The same rights...no more, no less.
But a man can't marry the man he loves and if a lesbian is found serving in the military they get kicked out. You just do not have a clue whatsoever.

a legalized gay marriage would have granted immediate access. otherwise a power of attorney has to be granted and those can be DENIED! Even under a civil union or domestic partnership. Nebraska does not recognize any same sex relationship, no gay gay marriage, no civil unions, no domestic partnership.

I'm sorry. I believe that God ordained marriage in Genesis. As a Christian I just cannot support the change in definition of marriage--especially not to something the Bible explicitly condemns.

It's not about hate--I've never felt that gay people are second-class, or to be hated. I find it sad that people can be so "tolerant" and speak of love...but the second someone disagrees with them they get labled a hate monger. What happened to a right to an opinion? I have a right to vote, as did the people of California (and they voted no).
