My parents are perfect examples of how to take the weekly ads, the coupons, the normal store prices and sale prices and just get loads and loads of stuff for the price most people pay for 1 meal.

I actually wish I was more like that. I didn't know about the loading the coupons online and stuff. I might look into it, but I warn you ROCKS. If you convert me to the Plus Tard, a little peice of all Plus Tard haters die..

I'm not getting their gas though!
I am going to count to 3. When I say 3 you will sign up for a Bakers Plus Tard.

Haha. As long as I have you calling it a Plus Tard, that makes me happy.

I'm a confessed tightwad. I work the card online - with their email flyers & stuff. I go to the store with all the coupons electronically loaded on my card. Just last weekend, when all our kids & their friends were home from Mpls, we went to Bakers & bought about $80 worth of groceries. With the card we saved over $18.

Also, there have been quite a few times when I've saved 20 cents per gallon on gas at their affiliated gas stations.

For me, it's worth it. Obviously others disagree.
I agree. I mean really, how hard is it to get a card and swipe it when you go to the grocery store?

It's not hard, in fact if you register the thing, you don't even need the card, you just type in your phone number on the pad. But that's not why I'm a Plus Tard hater. I just think it's crazy how to get a "normal price" you have to be a member. Without the card everything is drastically overpriced. I stopped in there after Easter to rummage through their leftoever Easter things because they were marked 50 or 75% off or something. I get to the register and they were going to charge me full price for that crap, because I didn't have a card. That's nuts. I could have went to any competitor and got that discount without a card.

Also, as I mentioned before, the layout of Bakers stores are crazy. I can't ever seem to get in and get out of there, because nothing is in a place that makes sense.

I liked Albertsons. I wish they were still in Omaha. They have great products. Their chicken is the best. It's greasy, but good.

Baker's locations are laid out a little funny. I knew where nearly everything was at Deerfield (136th and Q) but that's because I worked there for a little more than 4 years.

I find the layout of Target stores to be even more frustrating sometimes.

Maybe Safeway will consider re-entering Omaha? Yeah, it's a long shot. But still it would be great if they did.
