Anybody have any suggestions for local moving companies that you've had experience with? Preferably a company that actually takes care of your property during the move? I've had some bad experiences with movers out of state. The company I used last time was ok, but they seemed really shady. It's not a long move, only a few cites away but moving companies make it so much easier. Thanks in advance!

We used United Van Lines. No problems except one of my removable hard drives was never found after we moved in. Not sure what happened. Fortunately it only had kids software on it.

Regardless what company you use, here's who will knock on your front door:

I'd highly recommend using these guys: orange county movers, fresno movers, riverside movers (located in Garden Grove)
I saw their truck outside of my building in Fashion Island. I gave them a call and they were upfront, friendly, and honest. They are one of The Irvine Company's preferred vendors, so I knew they'd be good. After I got a quote I called several other movers and these guys were still the cheapest.

Also do a google search for "service magic". It's like using the Yellow Pages but in reverse. The vendors call you and give you quotes. Saves a lot of time. Good luck with your move.

Don't forget, all moving companies are pretty much the same. They drive down to skid row, pick up a couple sober guys, throw a company t shirt on them and put them to work.

If you're lucky, the contents of your wife's underwear drawer will be the same after the move as it was before the move.

I don't know were you are getting your information from.

The guys we used were actual company employees. Bonded and insured.

Nothing was broken or lost.
