I'm going to be moving to the OC, Costa Mesa or surrounding area, not Santa Ana (too.....lets say populated). Very much a biker/rollerbladder and was wondering if someone could tell me what areas to avoid. You know "rough areas" ;streets, neighborhoods, parts of town, that kind of thing. Thanks

In Costa Mesa, generally anything west of the 55 that's south of say, Wilson if you're trying to avoid anything too much like Santa Ana.

Avoid anyplace where you refer to the county as "the OC" - that is a surefire way of getting beat up!

lol. Not as bad as referring to San Francisco as Frisco in front of those uptight folks, however (you can refer to it as "The City," preferably in hushed tones, though not in front of a New Yorker).
