A little bit = one winter.

I wonder how many of those neighbors are from somewhere else, rooting for the home team. You know how it can get at an Angel's game with all the frggin transplants showing up to root for the Yankees or Sox.

There are tons of jobs in North Dakota, no experience needed, paying $100,000 a year. Then again some cities there have unemployment rates of about 1%.

True and a 2 bedroom goes for the same price as Silicon Valley, $2500 a month, all relative as they say.
The Dark Side of North Dakota

For that 100k I will take SV anyday.

Hell yes. I hardly take advantage of the OC lifestyle anyway. Hate the beach. Hate hot weather.

I'd take the move to ND, save up, and retire early to somewhere slightly warmer (but still with 4 seasons).

I think a lot of the people answering have never spent much time in ND.

If if I could find my job in Fargo for half my current earnings I'd move in a heartbeat. The trouble is, there are not a lot of opportunities in my field in ND. In Minneapolis, yes, but moving there would not be an improvement over my current lifestyle. I think Fargo would.

I wouldn't move to the "boom" area.
