Hi,

I want to move to Orange county or Irvine very soon. I just want to know which is a Bangladeshi populated area? I don't know anyone there so it would be great if I could live in an area where I will be surrounded by the people of my community.

Thanks
Sathe

Nowhere in OC is a south Asian enclave. Irvine is Chinese and there are Vietnamese in Garden Grove/Westminster and Koreans in Brea.

Artesia in LA is what you want

It looks like you speak proper English, you should be fine making friends irregardless of their ethnic background. Try it out.

Otherwise, Artesia is the only real Indian enclave, next to Cerritos in LA. There is also a Little Bangladesh in central LA, west of DTLA. http://www.laweekly.com/restaurants/...-house-5101783

There are plenty of South Asian professionals throughout OC. Perhaps you can find some type of meetup group, or look up a temple if you are religious. Most of the South Asians around here are Gujarati and Punjabi...and I've come across very few Bangladeshi, so I would either keep an open mind, or be ready to feel miserable and lonely. Up to you.

Also aren't Bangladeshi people Muslim?

Make friends at a Mosque, I think the Sunni ones would have mostly Pakistani and Indian folks, the Shia ones are Iranian

I went online to look for a Bangladeshi restaurant and came up with this store/eatery in LA County:

Little Dhaka
18159 Pioneer Blvd
Artesia, CA 90701
(562) 865-5230

I love driving on Pioneer to see all the shops. I'm sure they can answer this question for you.

HI, I am also in the same situation, I live in NYC and would like to move to California, but want to have a somewhat Bangladeshi community. I know it will be nothing like Jackson heights/Jamaica. But I want to have places where i can get deshi food late nights...city feel..etc. were you about to find such in LA/Orange County?
