Alright. It is all my fault and Irvine schools here are the best in the world. Feel better?

Now I can continue conversation with like minded optimists on changing things for better.

You are generalizing. I have no complain about Irvine. Started the thread to bring awareness about school issues. If I offended you without intention, feel free to leave the thread for more productive discussion.

Keep in mind, I am not a Plano native and I never said Plano is perfect. No place is perfect. We the people are responsible to make our place better.

Oh, I'm not offended. I'm an Orange County native.....lol....we don't get offended by people who move here from someplace else and then complain about schools, housing, the beach, cost of living, etc. We're actually quite used to it.

I'm just trying to find out why you didn't scope out the school, distance to house, safety of school yard, etc. before you moved to your new house.

p.s. Having gotten an EXCELLENT education in schools north of the 55, I don't consider Irvine schools the best in the world.

Stop the nonsense. How do you know if you don't live in Irvine?

Bigger concern is that there is no way to lock down premises in case of emergencies like intruder.
I thought some elementary schools have fences, but I admit I don't worry as much in Irvine. Except the administrators, Irvine is pretty safe. In fact I have to make sure my kids know that other areas are not like Irvine. They have no bus but loads of kids bike or walk home alone. My kids did either took the bus or drove their bikes. Problem is crossing the freeway entrances.

The after school care is wonderful. The extra music lessons for my kids in elementary and middle school is wonderful. The extra science hour instruction is also wonderful. I have less complaints about Irvine than previous areas I came from. The only complaint I have is the people I first came in contact. They were rude and not helpful. They think people lie about their residency to get into Irvine schools. For example, you can have Irvine address but go to Santa Ana school district or Tustin. But that you need to find out about the school boundaries.

Glad to learn about music and science instructions. I really think the school district needs to fix rudeness problem though.

Also things like proper building structure, sufficient number of teachers (30 kids in class???) and an actual PT coach/teacher are essential. Currently one of parents is volunteering as coach for small grades as they don't have any.

I don't know what elementary school you are thinking of but my kid had bad experience at University Park. The teachers there stopped my husband and told him to check my kid's homework. He then asked them if that's not their job. Immediately after that we moved her to Vista Verde and then the school moved to Turtle Ridge area. I believe the student to teacher ratios there was much smaller than 30. Very small classes and she had year round instructions. That was wonderful for my kid. It's a new school so I think they have proper building structure.
