Buses are not common.....or you can pay 300 bucks a year for them..slightly less for your other kids

I think you have to pay if you want bus service in Aliso Viejo (Capistrano Unified). Several of my neighbors pay, while others drop their kids off at school, and pick them up at the end of the day.

I also see a lot of middle school kids walking to school.

1. I really suggest Aliso Viejo over Irvine. Unless living in a denser environment among a majority of Chinese is more your thing.

2. You're going to love it. It was 82 degrees on Sunday. Played with the kids outside in our shorts and had a BarBQue. Probably not something anyone could do where you are at.

3. Pay attention to distance to your school. Walking with your kids to school in the sunshine is a great way to start your day.

1. I would agree with AV over Irvine, but for different reasons. It find it a bit more reality based/down to earth. Although it is not hugely different. (You will be getting a landslide of prejudice recriminations soon but not from me).

2. What do you mean? It was at least 40 on Sunday as best I remember and it was not raining hard enoguh that you could not see. We played outside, and rejoiced in the beautiful warm spring weather. . Ok only some people were wearing shorts but playing outside was not a problem. We are far less weather averse. We even go outside when it is windy.

3. Sunshine? I am not sure what that is. Can you explain it please?

Edit: Sorry it was Saturday that was so beautiful 45! Sunday only got up to 34. No one in shorts on Sunday.

I have a job i'm doing a transfer so I will work FT. My wife will first get the kids settle then she will find some part time job.
I'm also finding out that renting is crazy meaning you have to find a place quick. i'm trying to figure the best way to do this. our plan for my wife to go down for a week look at houses and find one available and get it. I'm not sure if this can be done in a week. Thoughts?

Any recommendations on how to look for a house to rent. Is zillow good enough? Is spending one week looking is that enough to find and secure one?

Cant speak for the current situation, but I am sure it exists. It did when I went to school in SoCal and when my daughter was in school. How many or how bad I do not know.
