Been to the ones in San Diego. Food is great, as is the concept! But yes, pricey.

BS reply? Right back at you.

Here are examples from other states. I got all of these by searching for "breakfast" on yelp in various cities, and taking the very first search result. I did not go out of my way to find something ridiculously expensive -- In fact, I even disregarded cities where the first result looked "too hipster" (i.e. Tilikum Place Cafe in Seattle, Tasty N Alder in Portland.)

Blue's Egg, Milwaukee WI: https://bluesegg.com/menus/
Any omelette: 12.50 + Coffee 3.00 + Juice 2.50 = 18.00 (+tax & tip will make this 22)

Jelly Cafe, Denver CO: Jelly Cafe | The best breakfast in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood | eatmorejelly.com
Most scrambles: 10.25 + I don't actually see coffee on their menu, but a regular latte 3.75 + small Juice 3.00 = 17.00 (+tax & tip = 21, that's ballpark...and if you make the juice a large, that's +1 = 22)

Original Breakfast House, Phoenix AZ: https://www.originalbreakfasthouse.com/breakfast
Omelette: 11.75-12.50 + Coffee 3.00 + Juice 2.75 = 17.50-18.25 (+tax & tip, that's 22)

Saddle Creek Breakfast Club, Omaha, NE: https://www.yelp.com/biz/saddle-cree...ast-club-omaha
Standard Breakfast 10.00 + Coffee 3.00 + Juice 2.00-3.00 = 15-16.00 (+tax and tip, not quite 22. More like 19-20.)

Okay, in Omaha NE you can get breakfast for $19 rather than $22. Happy now?

And who eats out the most? As far as I can see, at least here in OC, it's millennials many of whom probably live at home. The others are too busy cooking healthy food at home and eating out less frequently (but at higher end joints) or saving their money for travel (OCers travel an aweful lot). No wonder millenials are taking so long to save some money.

I guess millenials are fine with paying 22/person for the cheap food that most call "breakfast". Again, no wonder they are poor.

If you can't add simple numbers (the prices listed in a menu) you really shouldn't eat out. How can you be surprised when the bill arrived, when everything you ordered had a price listed next to it?

I did look at the prices. It was a lot lower then I paid.. They hadn't updated the menu yet.

right?!? everybody's so defensive of how much they get to spend on breakfast. Guess it's harder on us because we remember when it was 10 bucks and coffee was a dollar.

Quit messing around with crappy California and come to Arizona. You know you want to.

More breakfast places than you can count all over the Phoenix metro and they're inexpensive.

I reside in Chino Valley, AZ. Breakfasts with tax, tip, come to $12, lunch is $16 and dinner is around $25, all include tax and tip. There is no way in blazes I would pay $22 for a breakfast. I could buy two weeks of breakfast food for that price. I am old and I remember it costs us $2.50 for a breakfast, but times have changed. I could not afford to even travel to California at those prices.
