we have family coming down this weekend to go see it.
Very cool!!! We've gone the last 2 yrs, and enjoy it very much each time. Its well worth the minimal entry fee!!! Great family event.
We talked to someone last year that came up from San Fran. to come see the lights! Our little claim to fame here eh?

It's become our newest family tradition. We actually choose the light rainy evenings to walk thru because it's less crowded (and we don't get in the way of the picture takers) and the lights actually reflect brighter off the wet leaves.

Okay, walked thru last night with the full moon. Lots of purple and blue lights this year. Very pretty. Since it was a full moon with extreme low tides, we stopped at Sunset Bay and was able to walk way out before visiting the gardens.

I went last friday. I have got to say that it just gets better every year. The seals,whales and a frog moving in lights is quite a sight to see. Just looking out over the garden it looks like a sea of lights.

It might be worth checking if you like Christmas lights. According to my map it's 116 miles from Eugene to Coos Bay. From there you go on Cape Argo high way for a few miles. It's a wonderful drive and it might be best to take it during daylight then see the lights at night.

I know theres a website w/some pics of the lights from a few years ago - i think if you just google Shore Acres State park, you'll get some links that might be helpful.

It's definately worth seeing and if you arrive along Cape Arago just before sunset, watch for the migrating whales along the stop-offs. (Whale Watch Week starts the day after Christmas but I saw a spout out there yesterday).
