Cuturally diverse... well, even Portland struggles with that; Oregon has a lot of white people.

LGBT tolerance? We have gay marriage now and even if the courts hadn't interceded it would have passed in a 2014 ballot referendum. Pretty much anywhere in Oregon is good for that. Maybe if you choose some small farming community they'll look at you weird but most towns you should be fine. I take that back - avoid Klamath Falls - it's our little version of Mississippi.

If there is prejudice in Oregon that I've seen - it's against Hispanic people. There's a stereotype I've seen in various places around Oregon that "the Mexicans are taking our jobs," "they're dirty" etc...

Really no cultural diversity in Oregon but very gay friendly.

Cultural diversity: Portland... sort of. That's about it. Salem and Medford areas have lots of Mexican families. Other than that, a really white state. Diversity mostly runs from "Scandinavian to Irish".

gay tolerance: pretty tolerant state on that stuff. Definitely some bible-thumpers, but the NW culture of "stay off my lawn!" kind of trumps bigotry. Being gay will be a non-issue as long as you stay out of OTHER people's hair.

land use: summarized well above. Really depends on your money situation and if you need to work or not right away.

I think you mean Woodburn, not Medford. Medford is roughly 12% Hispanic. Woodburn is 58%, Salem is 22%.

Didn't realize Medford was that low, I must have been in a heavily Mexican area there then when I visited. But 12% is still pretty high compared to most of Oregon. Also, by Salem area, I was including Woodburn, which is about 15 miles away. Generally the farm-oriented areas of Marion County, I guess. Lots of orthodox russian and other Eastern Euro groups as well.

Those numbers may not reflect the scores of undocumented. (don't know)

No, it isn't, pretty much right at the Oregon averages.

Oregon (all from the 2013 census)
White alone 88.1%
Hispanic or Latino 12.3%
Asian alone 4.1%
Black or African American alone 2.0%
American Indian and Alaska Native alone, 1.8%
