try these local links for some infor on the Coos Bay/North Bend areas.
southcoastshopper.com
theworldlink.net
kcby.com
for the main paper in Oregon, go to oregonlive.com theres all the classifieds and local news, plus, theres some pretty neat forums/blogs for several different cities/towns in the area.
I cant tell you much about the other coastal towns, but here in Coos Bay/North Bend, they dont pay much in those fisheries if your processing fish/crab. Usually around 7.50hr. When you look at the links for the local papers, you can see what housing prices (sales and rents) are like and how much the local jobs pay. I will tell ya, for most, unless you come with money or a specialized job that is very secure, it can be a difficult life on the coast. Well worth it for most of us though. We'll never be well off, but we're happy. Heck man, we dont even have tv, but we do have a lot of family time so its a good trade off. Please, make sure you visit before you make the jump though. Always a good idea to see things through your own eyes.
Best of luck to you!!!
Tiffany
