We have lived all over the US and are seniors in very good health and have always and like to live near good health care. OHSU is in Portland but we are unsure of the available health care in Ashland. We would like to move to Ashland (daughter and family lives in Bay Area) and would like some info on quality/availability of health care in case of, well you know.

Asante is the big hospital in Medford and Providence has some smaller regional hospitals.

Those would be your choices. You can do your own research to see if they meet your needs. It will not be like living in Lake Oswego with your choice of hospitals in the Portland metro.

Not sure what you mean by "you know," but think the quality of health care would be better in the Portland Metro.

KOBI-TV reported Friday that police were investigating at least one patient death at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. On Saturday, the television station further reported that unnamed sources alleged nine or 10 people had died from infections stemming from the diversion of medicine.

The anonymous sources told the station that an employee they identified as a nurse injected patients with tap water instead of fentanyl, an opioid that’s commonly used in medical settings in safe dosages as a powerful painkiller.
