Mikey,
The coast is a relatively expensive place to live, and might be bad on your bones in the damp cold months (Nov-May) unless you have a woodstove. Caretaking might be right up your alley though. The south coast near Bandon is warmer. Yachats on the Central coast is a weird little town full of artists and hermits, population 700. The Coastal economy is bad for poor people, there isn't much work, and most of it is low-paid service jobs. A lot of people live in campers and trailer on other people's land in informal arrangements. Your best bet would be to land a caretaking gig. Check caretaker.org. Or contact local realtors about the need for caretakers or on-site security. Having your own camper is a plus. Make yourself desireable in skills, not dependent in attitude. Good luck and God bless you.
