Get one of those blue rubber pools you see everywhere. They're cheap, easy to maintain, and there's nothing like soaking in a pool to beat the heat! That's one thing I DON'T miss about Medford...those long stretches of 90-100 degree temps. Although I really miss hanging out int the "pool" with my kids.

Have you tried white water rafting? Get one of those inflatable Tahitis at Blackbird, go down the the Rogue and grab yourself a cold one Ahhhhh.....

All I can say about the heat is thank goodness it is not humid here in Bend.

Got up to 64 for a high yesterday in Brookings. The afternoon was beautiful, though. Bright and sunny with no wind at all.

My aunt e-mailed me, and told me it was 108 in Corvallis yesterday ("only" 104 on her porch, though!)! Her house doesn't have air-conditioning. She must be miserable, and her pets, too. It's bizarre, because we have yet to break 100 here in Sherman Oaks (San Fernando Valley) this summer!

I was the one wanting summer to get here - - - Well, it did!! We have a pool and air conditioning here, but the house is 2 story and the upstairs doesn't cool off much. Our pool temperature was 87 degrees yesterday! I don't think it has ever gone that high!

I am a little worried because in our area they are forecasting thunder & lightning, but not necessarily rain. You know if that happens our forests will be burning.

Otherwise, I'll get through it - - - - - and be looking forward to cooler temperatures!!

I've been on a road trip for 2 weeks and glad we missed this heat. Yesterday I was in Laramie, Wy., and it was 42 degrees! The kids have been staying at our home on the Oregon coast and have been so happy to be there....It was in the cool, misty 60's while the valley got to 107! Aren't we Oregonians glad that we don't have to deal with this all summer?!

The "no air conditioning" is a thing of the past for the majority of people around here. I read yesterday that 72% of PGE's customers have A/C now. That's why we keep setting electricity use records every day.

I live in Corvallis, and it was a pretty miserable week. I think we got up to 109 here. We are still in the 90's but it does not seem as humid and it cools down a lot at night.
