It's funny how things work out. Simon was competing with Rouse to build a mall, Simon's in Waterford and Rouse's in Oviedo. Oviedo won out with the Marketplace and Simon built the Waterford concept, but look how the Oviedo Marketplace is failing and how successful Waterford is. But the original Simon mall in Waterford proposed a Sears, JCP, Burdines, and Dillards. That means there would have been a Macy's in Waterford if that mall would have been built, as Burdines would have converted to Macy's. I wonder if a traditional mall would have been as succesful in Waterford as the town center is. And for those who live in Waterford, which would you have preffered?
