Do you know how much revenue Howard brings in for the Magic/City of Orlando? Ticket sales, jerseys, merchandise, hot dog vendors, hot dog vendor's moms, nightlife around downtown, bars, clubs, ice cream stand on corner of obt/church st., guys that scalp tickets, people who charge $40 for parking, sprite, coca-cola, local malls, chicks that wanna look pretty on tv(makeup, clothes, shoes), etc etc etc

Im aware of that, and the team was winning, but we don't have that same team right now. If they can not surround him this summer then yes I hope they get rid of him. I rather see a non sold out 80-90% filled Amway with a winning team then a sold out one man show to the playoffs and an exit.

It doesnt matter whether or not Dwight stays.

As much as I hate to say anything negative about Dwight or anything Orlando related, the rest of the NBA as well as fans of other teams will NEVER take the Magic as a serious team until they win a title, which at this rate seems like it wont ever happen. We came close in 2009 and in 1995 but I think thats about as close as the Magic will come for a very long time

It's not ENTIRELY Dwight. Many of us were fans loooonnnggg before Dwight got here and will continue to support the Magic with or without him. Bottom line is Magic will generate revenue as long as they put a winning product on the floor. Of course having a mediocre team is less appealing but it's not likely that we will not get good players in exchange for Dwight in a trade. At a minimum if we get a Playoff contending team the Magic will continue to sell. And as long as their no state income tax, athletes will be attracted to playing on Florida teams. This will not be Cleveland if Dwight leaves (by trade anyways, if he walks in free agency....no guarantees)

Some great key points.

Exactly what people forget. LOT's of us were Orlando Magic fans before a Dwight Howard.

Tracy Mc Grady, Darrel Armstrong, Mike Miller, Pat Garrity, Ronny Sikely, Etc. Days Were Awesome!!

I would love to see Rondo join Dwight on the Magic. Magic need an all star point guard and an Artest like enforcer IMO.
