I think they farm out their home insurance to a different company, or at least that is what it was when they
quoted me a home policy last year. I like their auto insurance and they have the best price for me. I use ASI for home
insurance, but their rates have gone up 40 percent the last two years. They are blaming sink hole claims in Florida as the reason why the rates are going up.

Another recommendation for GEICO auto ins. They've been great for me. On the other hand, eSurance caused me grief and cancelled my policy for merely using my friends address (as a mailing address) when first relocating to Florida. Good riddance.

Default Why Insurance companies need to know where you live?

As an FYI, companies want to know About your permanent resident address because of the contractual language in the insurance policy. Every insurance company! (Including Geico)

There's a lot of confusion about what insurance covers and what it does not cover and the rules and terms and conditions that insurance companies Place upon policyholders.

Because Insurance is so complicated, I'm the cocreator of a new comedy miniseries about insurance. You can Google: Dirk and Canon insurance detectives, or go to the website And Watch our first episode: Insurance Detectives*|*Dirk and Canon

Please feel free to provide feedback!

I fully understand. I explicitly documented my car's physical address and my mailing address - which had nothing to do with my friends' address. I had used his address when I got a quote - as I was using it as a temp mailing address while relocating to Florida. The car's physical address was never my friends address.

I can not recommend eSurance in any way. My co-workers also had issues too whereas they had great experiences with GEICO (recommended to me) and StateFarm (?)

I wouldn't recommend Geico to my worst enemy.

Yes! We got Auto Owners from our agent. They are, I believe, the best priced insurance in the country.
