I think it is early June. Here is why: Although July and August are beastly in FL so is it nearly everywhere else. I argue that DC in August is actually worse than in FL. So, if you wait until July or August you may be acclimated by then and FL may not seem much different. However, in early June depending on where you are coming from you are probably used to 70's and a trip to Orlando is quite a shock to the system.

October would be another good time. In DC October is an amazing weather month. However, in Central FL it is still miserable hot.

In other words it is the length of time that it is hotter than heck in FL more than how bad it gets in the worst month that wears on you.

October is a little too cold for me actually. It's not guaranteed I can stomach going to the beach or a water park in October on any given day.

I wouldn't go in the water in October.
We went to Captiva in Feb, and although I did brave it up and swim, it was FREAKIN COLD!!!! lol.

I too would be interested in seeing if I can bear the heat and humidity in Orlando's hottest months. This gives me a good point of reference to see how bad the heat really is. Many of you say the worst is July or August, but could you be more specific? Would you consider mid July to mid August or pretty much all of July and August? This way I can try and plan a research trip for a few days. I may even be spontaneous and come down for 4th of July:-)

I've been down at different points but August was beastly. It was worse than the previous year when we went in early July. I don't live there though so this is my outside opinion.

Well, I think we've decided on coming down in March. We have to stick to school breaks so the worst summer months aren't an option for us unless we want to postpone moving another year, and I really don't. DH conceded March as a good time because he already knows the summer can be miserable, so he figures he might as well see if the other part of the year could be pleasant. And March he could possibly line up some interviews or meetings. Thanks for everyone's prespective

Try September, if you can.

September is a MUCH better comparison than March. It's worse than July, IMO.

Summer is hot, horribly humid and rainy. Mid-October through March is usually nice. Sometimes cold - don't throw out those sweaters! - but not cold like up north.

If your husband hates hot, humid weather, Orlando is probably a poor choice.
