Good point! Not everyone is looking for the same thing. Some people want all the conveniences (supermarkets, drugstores, big-box stores, gas stations, numerous restaurants, etc) within 5 minutes drive time of their house. That's great as long as you're willing to put up with all the traffic, noise, and congestion that goes along with those conveniences.

Other people prefer peace and solitude (trees, lakes, and wildlife) to be close to their abode and are willing to drive 10 to 15 minutes to get to the conveniences that they want/need. Lake County falls into this second category. There are many nice developments in Lake County that offer the peace and solitude that people want, yet are within 10-15 minutes driving time of all the conveniences/services that they might need.

As I mentioned before, if you just drive the roads and highways and try to assess an area thru the windows of your car, you're going to miss a huge amount of what is actually available that you can't see from the windows of you car. And it's by deliberate design that the developers made it this way. They don't want the general public driving by to see your house.

Lived in Groveland for 2.5 years. Plenty of markets, restaurants, BJs, Walmart. Very low crime. I liked it but I wanted to go to the coast for other reasons.
But Groveland,Clermont traffic is mild. Nice place to live.
