Why would there need to be any type of explanation. Why would a 1st grader be asking a question regarding sexuality in the first place? This is what many parents of young children are objecting: It's not a teachers role to discuss such matters even in a roundabout way.

If they really wanted to tweak Desantis they could add a $10 "Desantis Fee" to their admission prices. People would pay it and resent Desantis!

Apparently it's a long term losing strategy. You're delusional.

How is supporting 61% of Floridians pandering to the base? Your just aping CNN talking points... makes you look stupid.

Isn't that the parental right to decide what kids are , as you say... factually taught? Where are the actual facts in print? Who decides the facts? The LGBTQ community? How do you explain to a child who want to grow up and be Spiderman what a pansexual is?

This is CLEARLY a parental decision. My God... how stupid can anyone be? The world has gone crazy.

Do you believe that K-3 schools (or any grade) intend to divert from the approved curriculum and hold instructional periods discussing the wide array of various human sexual persuasions and hold discussions about which orientation(s) best suit them personally or simply explain how people, both male and female, have different lifestyles and that people must be respected and not rejected because of their lifestyles. All students have the right to have their gender, gender identity, and gender expression recognized and respected by their school community. Not suppressed. These are not new situations. All aspects have been known to mankind since the advent of socialization. Humans progress.

Disney voiced their opinion regarding a governments decision to put state government in place of local school boards. The governor took steps to eliminate an agreement made with the state 55 years ago because he does not approve of their opinion. Dictatorships operate that way.

The State nor Orange and Osceola counties can take on the debt and expenses of Reedy Creek and a lot of politicians risk loosing a lot of political contributions.

The shareholders are standing behind Bob Chapek.

It's not like a majority of Floridians are opposing this legislation. Do you support teaching k-3 about transgenderism, pansexuals, and fluid genderism?

If you took the time and looked at the issue and how Disney took a stance that opposes the legislative right of a state government, in this case Florida ... then you might find the action, not the topic, to be WAY outside the cooperate purview. Disney CHOSE to go outside their lane and go public with their opposition BECAUSE of a vocal minority. They abandoned their fiduciary responsibility to share holders.

If it is a parental decision why isnt this something local school boards should decide on this issue and not the states?

Can you post a link that shows what the schools were teaching these K-3 students? I don't think I've even seen the details. Thanks!

First off, I haven't watched CNN in many years, so I'm not sure what their "talking points" are. And my looking stupid in your eyes won't exactly keep me up at night with worry.

I am just trying to use a bit of logic. DeSantis got what he wanted and could have just moved on. But he decided that it was to his advantage to rile people like you up by making a mountain out of a molehill (the molehill being Disney). That is pandering to his base.

Were talking 5- 8 year old kids. You make this sound like an intellectual sexual seminar. kids of this age are NOT thinking about these topics... and if they were they would be inclined to speak with their parents. It's insane to think parents should be denied the right to control what is being taught about sex, at these early ages. in fact it won't be taught. The law is signed and is ABSOLUTLY constitutional.

Disney did not JUST voice their opinion. They challenged the sovereign right of the state government to enact a legislation they opposed but the voters OVERWHELMINGLY want.
