An unintended pun - "chills"?

The sound made when the tines of two forks get stuck together and you separate them.

I don't like any kind of noise. It makes me nervous. I really wish I wasn't like that.

I get a "chill" across my shoulders just remembering that sound.

The sound of a baby's cry, from that very first octave. Also we were watching a movie and the preview for the new predator movie came on, and throughout the preview they would play this very high pitched sound every other minute that lasted about 3 seconds and I cringed everytime I heard it. It was pretty low in volume, but just grated on my ears.

The exceedingly loud elevator "dong" in the bank lobby where I work. (The "dong" that indicates it has arrived on a certain floor.) It's so loud that people with whom I was speaking to on the phone have actually heard it through the phone and commented on it!

Unfortunately, I tend to be sensitive to "extraneous" noise too. ( "White type" noise doesn't generally bother me unless it's excessively loud.) I also wish I weren't as sensitive to it as I am. Now I do like to hear music, but even then, it has to be my musical taste and I don't like to hear music in the early morning! My husband would like to listen to the radio while we get ready for work in the morning, but that's too early for me! I like silence then.

I hope there's a special place in the Afterlife for those people who make radio commercials that feature skidding vehicles, crashing noises or horns honking. Irritates & scares the daylights outta me when I'm in my truck. Especially when I can't immediately see the source of such sounds...
