My eldest son's middle name is Maxwell, and everyone has always called him Max.

Cause it's my name and I don't like it...To me it sounds feminine and/or childish and I've only met animals named Max in my whole life, never an actual human being.

You sound very very young. Maxwell is most definitely a man's name & I have known lots of guys named "Max". All names are babyish when they are first given to a baby; even Egbert. Max is sort of a manly name IMHO.

Maxwell is always associated with the word Smart. That's not a bad word to be associated with.

My Max has always been a powerhouse. Feminine he ain't. He's a hardworking businessman, husband and father and rides a Harley.

Just think, Maxwell, what if they had named you Alphonse. One of my kids went to school with a Wolfgang!

Remember Max Gail from the Barney Miller TV show?

I think Max is a good name.

I think it's a fine name! I know a 21-year old named Max and my next-door neighbor's grandson is named Max, too...he's a toddler and it fits perfectly.

Also, I like names that have nicknames...

It's short, easy to say, and easy to spell. Gets a thumbs up from me.

The first impression of the name Maxwell
to me is
strong
independant
sturdy

Every name is good but its the person behind the name that counts.
Maxwell is fine in my book

Our names are our identity
very strong
