I really wish I'd known less at that age actually. I basically went straight from childhood to adulthood without that naive happy go lucky phase in between that most twenty something people enjoy. I was always said to have an "old head on young shoulders". All my best friends were in their 50's.
As far as relationships go, I don't know if I can answer that one.
As far as life goes, don't be afraid to seize the moment. I am a few weeks from turning 30 and while I don't regret my 20s I would have done them differently.
I wish I had know that you cannot force life, things happen for a reason and even when bad things happen you can usally look back on it and know it was for the best or what you learned from it. In my 20's I would get really upset when things didn't go the way I wanted or something bad happened. I would try to force good things to happen and it just doesn't work that way.
I'm currently 24 years old, heterosexual male, never been in a relationship.
I was wondering....what do you wish you knew when you were in your 20's & what would you tell someone in their 20's, like me?
I welcome answers from both males & females. Thanks in advance!
1. Breakups happen, love yourself and let your friends love you back to healing afterward.
2. There is life after "25 or 30 and has not yet married" Good living...and a WHOLE LOT of life!
3. You marry to make your life better but the opposite could wind up happening (it did to me)
4. Travel and Education are great ways to spend your 20s
5. Save all the money you can, and don't touch it!
7. Keep your credit immaculate!
8.Don't carry grudges
9. Try to keep close ties with your families and if you have some difficult relatives, do what you can to keep the relationshp intact.
10.Exercise and be reasonably disciplined about what you eat and drink now, and you will not be cursed with trying to lose weight in middle age, later.
I wish to Hell I knew that I could very well end up living in Texas against my will if I didn't use common sense and get my act together! Texas today would be fine, I'm sure, but in the 70's it was NOT a good experience for me!
