What a perfect time for this to be the peeve. We've been planning a camping trip with friends we only see a few times a year and today I get a text saying the weather looks bad for this weekend.... THE TRIP IS NEXT WEEKEND!!!!!! Well, not anymore.
My apnea appointment was needing to be changed because the woman I see was going to be gone (4 months after the letter was sent -->) and the doctors office sent me a letter telling me that I had to call them to change it. I almost threw the letter away since I wasn't expecting anything from them.
As it turned out they screwed up the date anyway, didn't bother to tell me I had to get the chip from the machine read and the result printed beforehand (I found out only because I was so paranoid that I called the day before the appointment to check on it and that woman told me), and they don't understand what the problem is. I was told, "Most people prefer a letter." Well I don't, and no one asked me. Leave a message on my voice mail, send an email, drop by my house. A letter is the least preferable way to contact me as I have a tendency to throw them away unopened if I'm not expecting anything from you. I hate junk mail.
Dumbest bunch in a doctors office I've ever run into.
Wow,,,, If I’m going to be responsible for the project and having it work out well, then I’m going to be part of the planning to insure that it works well with the methods that I will use to get it completed. Otherwise get someone else who you feel will provide you the results you are looking for. I take full responsibility for what I do and how it’s done.
Good peeve, Jez. It boils down to communication, and some people are rotten at it.
The music leader at our church does this all the time - reschedules something and doesn't tell the people involved, so they show up and he's not there. It happened again this past Sunday. Very frustrating, because we took time out of our busy schedules to show up when we were previously told to show up. He's often late, so we waited for a while and then called him. He apologized for not letting us know that the plans changed. This has happened a bunch of times and is getting really old. He's a very nice guy, but the lack of communication makes me want to grab him by the shoulders and shake him! (Nice Christian attitude, huh? )

Someone went through a stop sign and smashed my son's car . I think he must have lost his temper afterwards at the scene because he said that the police wanted to give him a citation even t hough the accident wasn't his fault.
