[quote=Kobber;27571025]Good morning everyone and welcome to QOTD for the first day of the new year. 2013 is already nearly 22 hours old in my part of the world and everything looks just the same as it did yesterday! I hope it will be a excellent year for all of us in the QOTD family.

How do you plan to spend your day today? Movie at 3pm with friends. Drive a hundred miles to pick up the shorties for a sleep over, finishing laundry and kitchen clean up after the devastation last night. I'm really tired, but New Years Eve was so fun.

(a) If you’re eating in a Chinese restaurant do you use chopsticks? Yes
(b) Do you usually read in bed before falling asleep at night? Yes
(c) When turning off your TV, do you also turn it off at the power point? No, if by that you mean unplugging it at the wall socket. We only do that when we're away on vacation.
Bonus Question:
When was the last time you had an X-ray and (if you’re okay with sharing) what body part was X-rayed?
My foot was X-rayed in November because I had pain from an exercise injury that fortunately turned out not to be a fracture.
Just for fun:
How do you plan to spend your day today?
I cooked a hot breakfast (French toast with bacon). Right now DH and I are watching a replay of the Rose Bowl Parade. Later we'll go out for dinner at our favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant. Other than that, the day is unplanned.
What’s your attitude towards New Year Resolutions?
I usually make them, and do fairly well at keeping them, for a time at least
I usually make them but rarely/never keep them
I sometimes make them
I gave up making them long ago

Other: I don't resolve to change on just one day out of the year. Any day is a fine day to choose to change.
Extra Credit Question:
Please answer yes or no to each of the following questions.
(a) If you’re eating in a Chinese restaurant do you use chopsticks? Yes, always.
(b) Do you usually read in bed before falling asleep at night? No - reading wakes me up, and I'd never get to sleep if I read in bed.
(c) When turning off your TV, do you also turn it off at the power point? Not applicable. I don't watch television, and the fancy new-fangled monster that my spouse watches is so complex I can't figure out how to turn it off even if I wanted to. It doesn't have any dials or knobs at all; everything is done with the remote control, and that stupid thing looks like a prop from a sci-fi movie, it's got so many buttons on it.
On a few occasions, my spouse has fallen asleep with the television still on and won't wake up to turn it off again, and I've had to cover it with blankets to block out the flickering light so I could go to sleep. And yes, he laughed himself silly over it when he woke up.
Bonus Question:
When was the last time you had an X-ray and (if you’re okay with sharing) what body part was X-rayed? A little over a year ago, for an annual exam that many women "of a certain age" receive. Have my next one scheduled for tomorrow morning, and am not looking forward to it. There are certain body parts that are not meant to be squished flat.
Just for fun:
How do you plan to spend your day today? Well, it's mostly over at this point, but I spent it taking down holiday decorations and helping my spouse make our traditional New Year's Day meal of Hoppin' John, greens cooked with ham, and sweet-potato pie.
