Hi all. New here. I currently live in NY (Long Island) where I am a tenured teacher, but going to make the crazy attempt to move to South Florida as early as this summer (for family and health reasons, among others). It's my first real re-location and I'm looking for advice and hope, since apparently things aren't looking so good for teachers in Florida.
I look forward to "meeting" some of you and hope that I can be of some help to those who need it as well.

Hi! I am a new member and I'd like to say hi to everyone, so I'm posting here.

My name is Johnny and I live in Bergen County, NJ. I hope to be of help to a lot of people in telling them about NJ. I am a native New Jerseyan, born and raised here in NJ. I was born in Weehawken and grew up mostly in Bergen County. I went to all NJ public schools and finished up at Rutgers University, then went on to work for a couple of NJ-based retailers, and then to work for AT&T, also NJ-based (at that time). Not until AT&T was bought out by SBC/Bellsouth did I ever even work for a non-NJ based company! I have been all over NJ, having friends (from Rutgers) who live all over, including South Jersey. Hopefully all my experience in the state can help someone.

I have spent much of my life "on the road" for work, as a consultant and trainer for various corporations. So, I do have a good overview of the rest of this impressive nation and what's what and what's where. I have had the opportunity to "live" all over the nation, but mostly in hotels or corporate housing; I realize it's not quite the same as being a full-time resident of these places, but when you consider I spent more time in these other places than at home, then I essentially did "live" there. For example, for a while I lived in Cincinnati - I was there for months on end and only returned home one, maybe two weekends a month, flying home Friday night or Saturday morning, and flying back by Sunday evening. It's hard to say I was "living" in NJ during those months and to say I was NOT "living" in Cincinnati! Anyway, hope that gives you a big picture of my experience with places around the country.

Anyway, this website and forum was a great find and I'm happy to be here, geography and various places are what I love to talk about and learn about!
