HOW TO CARE FOR WOOD FURNITURE
If you have wood furniture, what are you doing to take care of it? Here are some things you can do to care for the wood and keep your furniture looking beautiful for decades.
Every week or two, dust with a gentle, non-toxic product such as cabinet cleaner. Spray the product onto a cotton cloth and then wipe the wood. Don't spray the product directly onto the wood.
If your item has carvings or crevices, a dust cloth won't clean it well. Instead, use a clean cosmetics brush.
Rubbing a thin layer of paste wax into the wood will restore luster and will repel spilled liquids. Paste wax is a plant- and beeswax-based polish.
Wax your frequently-used pieces often, about once a month. Wax seldom-used items, such as furniture in your guest bedroom, twice a year.
Wood furniture needs some TLC to look its best and last unscathed for many years. Take good care of your stuff!

I needed to hear that tip about 27 years ago when our furniture was new. Now some of the wood surfaces have various scratches, rings, blisters, etc. in the finish that will never come out.
Your tip about using paste wax reminds me of the time I decided to wax the car but used floor wax instead! I didn't know they aren't the same thing. Oops. It dried as hard as a coat of paint and took hours of hard buffing to get rid of.
Great tips, Pam, and the furniture looks so good afterwards.
