Good morning everyone.
I hope you all had a great weekend.
I just realized that there are only 14 shopping days till Christmas.
So in honor of that here is todays question:
Are you in "theholidayisalmosthereiamnotready" panic yet?
lol I ran it all together on purpose because thats how I feel
Today in history:
December 10, 1901 1st Nobel Peace Prizes were awarded. Each year on the anniversary of the death of Alfred Nobel, the prizes bearing his name are awarded “to those persons who shall have contributed most materially to the benefit of mankind during the year immediately preceding.” Alfred Bernhard Nobel died on this day in 1896 and the first of the Nobel Prizes was presented in 1901 according to instructions in his will. Nobel chose this method to ease his conscience after inventing the deadly explosive, dynamite.
Word of the day: perspicacity \pur-spuh-KAS-uh-tee\, noun:
Clearness of understanding or insight; penetration, discernment.
Today is National Lager Day
hmm this may be a perfect way to counter the above mentioned panic

I should be, but I'm not!
I'm just so happy to finally be settled in our new house that I can't get too worried about anything.
I've never ever been like this before.
Usually I am fairly uptight about making sure of presents, holiday menu etc.
I am not *completely* disorganized; I did send out all my greeting cards.
I guess what sent me in the panic was realizing that I have to have my "box o gifts" ready to be mailed by the 17th lol 1 week
add to that we are staying home this year which I am sure will create some "family drama" when I um tell them.
lol last night hubby said "so what are we making for christmas dinner" He thinks I was kidding when I said "let go out to eat" "D
My shopping is done
the gifts are wrapped
the tree is up and decorated
the lights are outside
I even have some of the food for Christmas purchased, prepared and in my freezer
It's time for a lager I guess- it's 5:00 somewhere.

Me too! I could not imagine trying to shop between now & Dec. 24th. I figured out a long time ago that we have a guest room for me to pile stuff in. So, all year as I see things on sale that I think is the right gift for someone on my list I go ahead & get it and hide it away. Then, the day after Thanksgiving I go drag all of that stuff out and viola! I am ready to wrap. This system has never failed, and it eases the financial burden by not shopping all at once.
I am halfway done with my christmas activites but the perspicacity of my situation came when I discovered I had very little money to finish up my christmas shopping...LOL...oh well. I will probably end up as a last minute shopper.
Good thing is we have a tree..DH and I are going to decorate tomorrow; we have a few gifts but still need a few more; and at least 1/3 of my christmas cards are done. I need to find some time to finish writing. So I am not feeling the panic yet...hopefully I won't!
Trying my best not to freak out.. I could only amble around the mall yesterday for so long before I just wanted to drop kick every one that was either a, deliberately ramming into me while I was trying to walk with my bags, or b) running around screaming because you didnt want to ride in the stroller anymore and had to let everyone know about it!
I can get my stuff knocked out, by hitting a majority of 3 more stores. And they're all on my way home from work...
Breath in... breath out.... I'm almost done.
