Morning Zola........ Bonfire Night used to be a massive thing when I was a kid. It has faded to a degree, with the pushing of the more American Halloween. I saw this coming a few decades ago......... there is money to be made from Halloween costumes and sales of candy.
Kids of my generation, used to go door to door singing a song called 'we come a cob coaling for bonfire night.' All kids knew this tune. We would go round door to door asking for any old wood, or even an old couch to burn on the traditional fire.
Sometimes, I would go to my friend Dave's house, and his mother would make Bonfire Night food like a huge meat and potato pie, and parkin cake. Then the fire would be lit, and fireworks set off. Many of those nights remain a fond memory.

Nice pics!
When I used to live in South Africa the night skies were pitch black - little or no light pollution. Therefore I could use my simple little 2.5" refractor to show me the planets, the odd nebula and the Andromeda galaxy.
But when we moved to England my dad bought a motorised Celestron reflector (can't recall the specific details but was certainly more powerful than my refractor). Trouble was living near a big city meant lots of light and air pollution, thus rendering his reflector almost useless unless we went out deep into the countryside - but who wants to do that at 2 in the morning
