Ever seen a scanning radio in a 1956 car? I had one in my '56 Fairlane. As I recall, my old stock AM/FM radio went out and I found this radio at one of the local wrecking yards in a wrecked Fairlane. I think it was called a Town & Country radio and it looked just like the stock radio except it would scan for channels.

Never heard of one.. sounds interesting. I know back when on a 4 watt 2-way radio in the winter you could get skip.. I lived in the Finger Lakes of N.Y. and with skip I could get transmission from Chicago or further west.. back when the 2-way was the size of a suite case. The warm glow of tubes
