trying to trap a feral cat to take to the vet and couldn't understand why the bait kept disappearing but the trap didn't spring.
well, duh, I had it set to not close.
I'm reminded of the time I tried to take the chill off a refrigerated Arby's sandwich. I put it with its wrapper in the microwave and it caught fire. Turns out the silver part of the wrapper contains aluminum and you know what they say about not putting metal in a microwave. But then I opened the microwave door to put it out and bits of burning wrapper wafted out. I probably should have just turned the microwave off and it would have starved of oxygen. But instead I found myself stomping the wrapped sandwich. I opened the wrapper. My shoe had not touched the sandwich. It was a little flat. I ate the sandwich. It was good.
Ha ha ha!! I once set a frozen half full box of broth on fire in the microwave while trying to thaw the contents.

I was up on a ladder, one time, painting the living room ceiling, it was summer, it was extra-warm, and I put the ceiling fan on to cool off. When I got up on the ladder I said to myself: You know you're an Aries, and Aries are prone to head injuries, so get down off that ladder and turn that fan off!
And? Getting down from the ladder, a blade hit my head, blood all over!
The other day I tried to wash my face with sunscreen.
