Christmas is all about material things now Lights up early, stores selling Christmas goods before Thanksgiving, and now music already on the radio. It's sad, truly sad

Hopefully, not all. I'm trying my best to look at all of the commercialism as just an early reminder of what Christmas will bring us. I think I'm going to look on the positive side for a change and fill my soul with the love, beauty, and wonder of the Christmas season.

Yesterday I was in a store where the decorations, trees and all the glitter was displayed and just touched an item here and one there. Tried not to let the 'Made in China' items depress me too much. But that is a topic for another day.

I saw christmas decorations at a department store in early September.

Why not put them up in February then??? Pretty bloody absurd.

It's crazy. I remember seeing Christmas items being displayed in early October, and I can't understnad it. Putting Christmas decorations up in Middle November, I would understand as people do start Christmas Decorating right after Thanksgiving, but the way the do it now, it's ridiculous.

Hey, maybe that's why some people leave their Christmas lights up all year!

They aren't lazy, they're just progressive trendsetters.

I agree! Same for toys... But I think that since people want more and more, it enables them to buy little by little... Still, it's a pet peeve of mine...
It drove me nuts to see they were put on just before Halloween... I had no Halloween decorations and wanted to put something on the door but couldn't find anything because Halloween stuff had already been replaced by Christmas stuff!!!

I definitely agree with you Alice, the commercialization of Christmas has been a pet peeve of mine for years. There's nothing wrong with putting up Christmas decorations and items, and all that, as long as it's done a month or so or before Christmas, and not before Halloween.

Also, being a Christian, the spirit of Christmas is with me every day, and I don't have to see decorations and lights and all the Christmas stuff at the malls to put me in the spirit.

Someone here in the neighborhood had them up for holloween! And had them lit too! Lit snowflakes hanging from the eaves. I enjoy decorations but that was a tad ridiculous. Even if they wanted to get them up...they don't have to light them!

To each their own I guess but those homes where the light and decorations stay up all year long is just a tad bit ridiculous.(In my opinion)
