Would like CD'ers input here. A father physically forcing a 18 yr old daughter to sit in his lap and when she pulls away and shoves his hands away she is called frigid. When he takes her to emergency room the nurse has to threaten him and run him out of the room because he thinks he has the right to stay while adult daughter is undressed and x-rayed. Years later daughter is 40 and father is 73, father cries and begs daughter to spend the night at his house despite her only living 20 miles away and visiting 2-3 times a week. He then cries to his wife because daughter went on fishing trip and his wife is now harassing his daughter that she should not be allowed to go fishing ever again unless she takes father along because he is lonely now that he is retired. Father has absolutely no friends. Father has also tried to tell adult daughter she may not have any friends, may not use Facebook and she is not allowed to go to laundrymat or shopping unless he takes her ...for her own safety. Meanwhile daughter ignores all this and does what she pleases and the wife keeps pitching fits on daughter for trying to have her own life. Is this not abnormal? Shouldn't a 73 yr old man be going fishing and going out other places with MEN his age and not expecting his 40 yr old daughter to go places with him?

Not normal, but it sounds like he's got some deep-seated issues, perhaps from his past that should be addressed.

Well I thought it was abnormal too. But father and his wife think this is appropriate behavior and are making the daughters life living hell. What can daughter do to shake them both off? Especially with thinking he should go with her fishing and to mountains, etc.

Daughter might try cutting off all communication with father; she might respond politely but with conviction concerning her ideas. It's just too extreme a behavior on both Mom and Dad's part.

"A father physically forcing a 18 yr old daughter to sit in his lap and when she pulls away and shoves his hands away she is called frigid."

^^^^ For starters, this is beyond f***ed up. "Frigid" is usually used in a sexual sense.

Technically yes since her twin died at birth.
