If you go to the study and read the methodology employed (pp. 119-122), you'll find that the problem of self-selection was completely avoided. They contacted 48,637 people without regard to their donor-conception status. This group was then divided into donor-conceived, adopted, and biological offspring categories.
But it isn't a random sampling, it's a sampling of people who signed up for this survey website (and receive compensation for completing surveys) which has unknown bias.
Additionally, a single study is rarely sufficient when making sweeping moral judgements, particularly when that study was conducted by a woman with a bias against donor conceived children.
Personally, I believe we should have compassion for the childless who are seeking to have a family because I believe Christ had infinite compassion for ALL of us. Who we are to judge another person for how they decide to have a family?

Just a quick reminder: the religion forum is here. Thanks.

Excellent post, worth reading a second time. The flaws pointed out in the critique are worth noting, particularly the lack of peer review.
WesternPilgrim: If not based on religious beliefs, what exactly makes you feel so strongly about parents or "parents" deciding to use IVF in order to have a family. You have failed to provide an intelligent study, so what exactly is your beef? In other words, what exactly is the purpose of this thread?

Nah. It's anywhere you choose to post. You loudly proclaim yourself a morality arbitor and then even more loudly whine when people choose to disagree you by calling such disagreement religious bigotry.
I've only read a couple pages, but I have to comment on the fact that IVF often uses the husband and wife's own sperm and egg. I have a problem with criticizing IVF in general when most of the time it doesn't result in "half orphans" or whatever nonsense the OP is claiming.
