I'd have no problem with it. My sister-in-law did marry outside of her race, however, and my husband nearly disowned her for it. Unfortunately, I guess there are people in this world who just don't get that love is love, no matter what your ethnic background, etc... We've both dated outside our race prior to meeting each other. We have 5 kids, and if any of them chose to date black, white, hispanic, purple, asian, green with antannae, it would be fine with me!
I couldn't care less what race my children date or marry, as long as they find good people. I was startled to find out many years ago that my mom was somewhat prejudiced, but then again, she grew up in a different time (the 1940s).
I have already told my children that as they are with someone that they each treat each other right, love each other and respect each other, then I don't care what race they are with. Race isn't the issue, being with someone you love is. However, I did make sure to let them know that if they were involved with someone of a different race, it would be more difficult to be accepted in certain areas that they might wish to live or visit.
Race or colour is no issue at all, nor is nationality.
On a selfish note, I'd love to have more of a cultural mix in the family, so it would be great if my kids married someone with a different background to us. We used to live next door to an Indian family and got invited to their colourful family parties and even some ceremonies - fantastic. Unfortunately we were pretty dull by comparison!
It would not be an issue for me. I would of course worry that my child and her children would be discriminated against by people who are racist idiots.
Education level, manners, and virtues of my children's mates are more important to me than race. I'm already dating someone out of my race and I feel our bond is neither stronger nor weaker if I were dating within my own.
As long as they are happy, in love and aware -- no problem here!
