Squire Sebastian Senator is his full FIRST name and she is insisting people call him by his full name.

People are ridiculous

I hope if he wants a nickname (or a shortened version), his mother respects that!

And I hope his family gets to be a part of his life. I think this mother will find out life doesn't work exactly as she predicts.

I remember back in my younger years I had picked out couple of ridicules names for my future children. It took a week as a nanny for a group of 6 year olds to remember that in the end, it's the kid that has to live with the name for the rest of their life alongside all the bullying and eyerolling from adults who will judge that parent just as hard as the children will tease. And maybe when they move out and legally change their name they can find peace, but for the entirety of their childhood they'll have to deal with their peers who don't seem to mature past that 6 year old maturity very much in regards to teasing people based on things they can't control like a weird name.

Trust me, she'll learn the lesson the hard way if she sticks with it.

I know someone who named both her sons the same name.

Very weird. But so is she.

That poor kid

And to think, my mother hated the name I had chosen for my middle child. She wished all the way through he would end up a girl because she liked the girl name. He has a normal name fwiw, it wasn't super common 12 years ago, but it's in the top 10 now and it's a classic. And she loves it now. He's been his name all his life.

Well, the former heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman...he of Foreman Grill fame...named all five of his sons George. He said that the George Foreman name was an asset that he wanted all of them to have.

She sounds like an idiot. Squire and Senator are titles, not names. Poor kid.

He used his head (unlike mom) and bolted. He got tired of everything being all about HER.
