Which would you have a more difficult time dealing with? A lesbian daughter or a gay son and why? I'm a lesbian and want to tell my parents that I like girls but I'm afraid of how they'll react.
Thanks!
I would have a worse time dealing with the bigots who were unwilling to accept either. I don't know if you ever told, but good luck.
PS - just b/c someone is gay doesn't mean they won't have kids.
Well I can understand that parents might be initially disappointed in the same way they might if their child chose to convert to another religion or something. It's just not what you expect. But you get over that initial shock and move on. I cannot imagine that if my child (son or daughter) came out that I would feel any differently about them. My child is my child is my child.....All I want is for them to be happy and well adjusted. Any parent who would turn their back on child who is gay, well, it's just beyond my comprehension.
(BTW, I am not infering that sexual orientation is a choice like religion, just using that as an example of something that you just normally expect your kids will be the same as you)
