The whole situation with the octuplets is tragic. I'm sick of the mother giving her justification for her poor decision making. Some of her reasons is that she was lonely, had a dysfunctional childhood, was an only child, disabled from an accident.

All of it is rubbish. I'm an only child myself, and I tell you that her parents have been enablers for her bad decisions.

I can't quite decide if she's had all these babies to get attention for herself by being on TV and is a con artist or if she is truly mentally ill.

Yes, I believe she could be mentally ill. I question if she is truly a fit parent or only had all the babies (at taxpayers expense no less!!) to exploit them for her personal gain. One thing she said that ticked me off was that people shouldn't criticize her for her unconventional choices. Of course she has rights to make decisions--even poor ones, but with rights come responsibilities and in this case includes the ability to give each child invidualized attention and financial support. She can't do either.

In any case, the State of California should seriously considering intervening as there is a questionable household for these children to be raised in. If she is mentally ill, then perhaps she should not be a parent to these poor kids.

I hate to say this, but maybe the kids would be better off in foster care, or even have her parental rights terminated and be adopted elsewhere where they could be better cared for in a loving stable environment.

It's really a shame that the media is going to buy into her little "plan" and pay her for her stupidity. This woman should be shunned and not rewarded for her actions.

This "interview" was done as DAMAGE CONTROL!!! She is still trying to play everyone. Her publicist probably told her that right now everyone is "out to get her" because of her ENTIRE situation and suggested she go public and show how wonderful and caring she is. Then the expect us to BUY IT!!! This was a PUBLICITY STUNT and nothing more.

On Bill O'Reilly Tuesday night, I think, he mentioned that his show had contacted the head of children's services in CA to see what he was going to do about this. On his show last night, he mentioned that they heard back from this man, and he said he was going to keep an eye on the situation, or some such response. I'm not quoting him exactly, but that was the gist of his remarks.

Good to know I wasn't the only

Thankfully, no one was near me b/c I stopped running & literally yelled "What the he$$" after the comment on how she is the better mom b/c she "holds" all her children.

And something along the line that she is always with her children unlike working women...yeah, she probably pissed off a few million working moms getting ready to go to work & had to hear her crap....oh, if I was a working mom....ohhhhhhh....seriously......the tv may have just been broken!

I think she has a split personality, too, after watching her.

I was fuming AFTER working out...b/w that interview & Casey Anthony's attorneys...I needed another work out to vent the frustration...so my keyboard is getting jammed on pretty hard right now.

I just am so angry these children were brought into the world like this....it was SOO wrong of this woman. My heart breaks for those little ones.

I don't think the interview does anything but verify she is mentally ill.

I guess the only thing worse than being a perpetual student, is being a perpetual student with 14 kids.

ANd it's sick that the PR firm is using her in this manner.

The PR could care less about those babies or the fact that this woman has serious issues...they are the ringmasters of this circus act.

The PR is using her. She is using the children.

Who the heck is looking out for the best interests of the children SHE ALREADY has (besides the pissed off grandma) & the babies who are still in NICU?

What is "amazing" about her story as the firm repeatedly states?

What is amazing is anyone who actually believes this nutcase of a lady.

I'm not sure at all about all these negative emotions... I don't have the anger of this proportions.

Jon and Kate had sextuplets. If they had just two more, the oohs and aaaahs would still be there. Are 2 parents more palatable for having multiples?

Jon and Kate had it hard at the beginning, Kate was spending $15 a week per person on food - that was pretty close to going to a food bank had the TV not stepped in. They are living off TV contracts now (with 8 children) and nobody is begrudging them.

Are 2 people with 8 children more palatable than 1 person with 14 children? Is it all in arithmetics? Or is it the concern that one person won't have enough love for 14 children? How about this saying that love is multiplied with each child, not divided?

Because she won't be living off taxpayers money neither, just like Jon and Kate, or the Duggars.

She is just a blip in the sea of welfare recipients that are already being paid by you.

If we are disgusted with her own personality and think that she will not really love her kids - I wouldn't dare to predict that at this stage. There are 16-18 year olds giving births and you never know in advance what kind of parents they will turn out to be. And, of course, we are not looking at her (in this interview) with open hearts and ears, we are prejudiced.

She is a wacko.

She was snippy.

She said that the fertility specialist implanted 6.

She had this weird "calmess" about her & then would make a smart comment like "Not all parents hold their children the way I do...therefore, THEY are the wrong ones (and she stressed the last part).

She says that everyone on the outside world is against her b/c she is a single mom...yeah, whatever...it has NOTHING to do with being a single mom...even married women are wackos....

Her church & parents will be the monetary source she said.

And, yes, she blames being an only child & living in a dysfunctional home for wanting so many children...blames EVERYONE else. She's a nut case.

And her little smirk was annoying as was her wannabe Angelina Jolie voice. I swear she was trying to take on that persona.

And, get this, she wants to go back to college in the fall, use the college daycare center to watch the kids & use STUDENT LOANS (hello...federal money) to pay for her children.

I really can no longer watch tv when I'm at the gym. It's making me nuts. After that interview, they had on Casey Anthony's attorneys who are using the movie, The Fugitive, as a defense.

And we wonder why the world is the way it is anymore? I'm frightened for my children b/c people out there are literally insane, irresponsible & dangerously clueless.
I think it's deplorable the way TV shows and magazines are flocking to interview this woman, but they do that because people watch the shows. If you're outraged about the situation, don't watch! If the Today Show's viewers had disappeared this morning, I bet they wouldn't ask her back, but people have to indulge their morbid curiosity and their sense of outrage, so they watch. I bet Today's numbers were very high today, and they'll bring her back again.

The Today show is usually on in the morning at my house, but I turned it right away when I saw they were going to be talking to whatever-her-name-is. (I did see the bit about Caylee Anthony's mom first, unfortunately.)

Jon & Kate did not have 6 children under the age of 7 prior to the next 6.

They both had the capacity to find employment (Jon in IT & Kate is a RN). Kate worked nights the first year of the octuplets. They were not living off their parents or living off workers comp.

What is upsetting, at least to me, & what I gain from some other poster(though not speaking for them), is the self-righteous attitude along with not taking responsibility for her actions.

As for comparing THIS single mom to Jon & Kate...yes, a second person is definitely a help in every single way.

I don't necessarily agree with Jon & Kate or the Duggars...but the issues here are not the same. They are just not the same.

There is a definite mental issue with this woman which in & of itself is very concerning.
