Pediasure commercial. Mom and little daughter are in the grocery store, mom begins suggesting a few things to eat. Princess responds with, "I don't like chicken.", "I don't like broccoli.", "I don't think I like waffles.". Rrrrrrreally. Guess what she'd be eating for dinner in my house? A broccoli, chicken sandwich on toasted waffles. Open wide, little girl.

A Haverty's commercial (I believe). Little girl on a tricycle, riding it IN THE HOUSE, bumping into a LEATHER ottoman. Adorable.

Then there's one with the woman bathing one child while the others are jumping on the beds and tearing the house apart. Maybe it was a Calgon commercial? Can't remember.

The thing is it is all accurate. Kids run the household these days. What is wrong with people? Society has become so lazy, that giving a kid a day long diet of chocolate flavored Pediasure is preferrable to making them eat what you cook. I can see that little girl on the tricycle wanting to go ride her bike, but dad's busy doing something important at his desk, and she can't wait, so he lets her ride it in the house.

What happened to respecting your parents when they say "no", sitting at the table to eat and not leaving until you are done (at least put a dent in your meal) and don't even think of touching the furniture with anything not covered in clothing? And those kids jumping on the beds, tearing up the house - how many of them actually go in the yard to decide on which switch they are going to give grandma to light their butts up with? My guess is zero.

Disappointing that advertisers make money off the laziness that is today's parenting.

What about the Burger King commercials. The one for the BK junior drives me nuts. Dad in the commercial doesn't want junior selling himself so cheap and junior back talks big time with no consequences. Or how about the one where the "King" comes home with the new chicken fingers meal and his son goes up and kicks him and both parents (the "King" and the normal looking mother) do absolutely nothing.

I'm with you on the pediasure commercial. If it were my kid they'd go hungry before I caved in and gave them pediasure just because they think they don't like something.

It never in my wildest dreams occurred to me to plan dinner around what my little children would eat. Today I have kids who will at least try most everything 15 yo. son enjoys sushi and sashimi; dd just returned from an "alternate spring break" in the Dominican Republic where she tried goat meat - said she didn't see the need to try that again but at least she tried it). I'm with you on those commercials - nothing like presenting bad behavior as normal and acceptable.

Still laughing at the picture of the little princess eating a chicken, brocolli waffle sandwich!

I hate those commercials too, I tell my kids "this isn't a resturant, you eat what I make". The commercial that really gets under my skin is the one for bounty paper towels ( I think), the kid is walking through the kitchen shaking the pop bottle and it explodes all over his mom, and she grabs the sink sprayer and says "this works much better". Paaahleeze. So you have kids watching this and thinking, why is my mom so mean if I spilled a glass of pop on the floor she would be mad.

The current quiznos commercial is almost pornographic. The guy is talking dirty to the oven. It is pretty disgusting actually. We use to like quiznos and I not very inclined to go back there again and have a vision in my head of some pervert getting off with the stove.

The media in general is like this... TV shows where the kids are SO much smarter than the parents, movies where ungrateful kids commit crime after crime, then are rewarded with new parents and millions of taxpayer funds, etc.

I know that many people think I am overreacting when I do not allow my kids to be exposed to this stuff, but then again, most people think my kids are SOOO well behaved. Guess what? They WEREN'T BORN that way!

Parents with hellion kids would think you're overreacting. I can completely understand your view.

I actually allowed my son to watch some of what most people wouldn't allow, and it was to teach him that these things were wrong. To this day (he's almost 21) he'll gasp at what he sees.

I worry about the next generation of kids, how out of control they'll be. It's not paranoia. Some of my friends have kids that are felons in the making.

Ugh, im with you on those awful commercials! I had to laugh though, when my youngest saw that pediasure commercial, she looks back at me with big serious eyes and says "That little girl is acting like a brat!!! She needs to just eat what her mom gives her!!" ...thats my good kid!
oh yeah, I just saw the quizno one this weekend for the first time. Totally creeped me out! And yeah, I dont think I could eat there again, for one, out of protest for such a nasty commercial, and for 2, ....the ICK!!! factor i get in my head when I think of their food now! Blech!!
How bout that commercial where they let in the baseball team to destroy a house? Man, if my kids ever acted like that.....or heaven help any kid that came into my house and was so disrespectful.
Its terrible how so many commercials show kids doing/saying awful spoiled rotten stuff. Does someone think thats CUTE?? jeez. wrong and sad. But hey, like PassTheChocolate, my kids are mortified by what they see on many of these commercials. They know theyd sure as heck better not every act/mouth off like that!
well, im off to write a complaint letter to quizznos....prob. wont do any good, but i'll feel better.

Are you all kidding? You're upset by silly, mindless commercials and NOT ONE OF YOU has said anything about the Enzyte commercials advertising male enhancement at 5:30pm every day, or that and the others advertising all day on Sundays, or the lubricating jelly advertised all during the weeks before Valentine's day all seductively suggesting sexual encounters while the kids are playing on the floor in front of the father, or all the drug commercials that try to lure people into drug use.

Unbelieveable.
