Most of the area you asked about are OK with the exception of Norristown.
Norristown has the most crime, but it still has some nice sections. Lately Conshohocken has been the hot area to be in. Using the PA turnpike for a commute is not always a good idea, (lots of accidents and no way to get off). With the price of gas going up and up and up you may want to try to get closer to your job. Ambler, Ft Wash, Spring Hse, North Wales, Lansdale are all good choices. I mention those towns because Montco was cheaper to live in than Bucks county, not by much but every dollar counts, so check that out too.
