You realize that Dingmans Ferry is 2 hours from Princeton? Why move there?

A little closer would be New Hope, which is just awesome, but maybe places further south in PA would be better and more affordable. Like Doylestown or Newtown-Yardley-Langhorne.

I agree Dingman's Ferry is waaaaay too far away from Princeton, NJ. And Milford, PA is even further away.

On the PA side, New Hope, Doylestown and Yardley are very nice communities. New Hope is a bit too touristy and cutesy for my tastes, but others like it. Doylestown would get my vote for the best of these places.

Why not Princeton itself? If you look at the Rt 1 corridor, that is not very appealing with the traffic and endless strip shopping arrangement. But the town proper of Princeton is very nice. I'd say as nice as anything you can find on the PA side of the river. It's got a walkable downtown (that is not overrun by masses of students), and for example, traffic will actually stop for you if you're a pedestrian crossing a street. You don't see that in too many places anymore. There are very nice walking trails along a canal (actually named Carnegie Lake), and the culture and arts that comes along with a major university.

Because the OP is obviously a class person who knows that the higher quality people live on the west side of the Delaware.

PS Princeton is a nice town, but maybe too expensive.

I would vote for Doylestown too. Charming town with interesting small stores and restaurants.
Walkable town, very upbeat, and a pleasure to visit.

Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely look into these towns.

As for why not Princeton itself, my hubby said he would prefer to live in PA. Something to do with $ and the schools.
