Here in Michigan I pay $1.77/gallon at Kroegers (on sale now for $1.59). I had heard that the cost of living is higher in out there, and I was wondering how that factored in terms of everyday food, like milk and eggs, etc.
What are the food prices like there? How about gasoline? It is $2.30/gallon right now down the street. This will all factor into how expensive a move it will be. Thanks.

The Harrisburg metro has some of the cheapest groceries in the country due to all the competition.

I thought the milk price was regulated. We pay close to $3 for a gallon/milk. I got gas a few days ago at $2.54 a gallon. I live in the Lehigh Valley.

I don't think milk prices are regulated, unless it's a minimum price. Weis' milk is much cheaper than it is at Sheetz. A gallon of skim at Weis' is about $2.75.

Gas here right now is about $2.65 to $2.69 for regular unleaded.

Bread also has a high range of prices. You can get a large loaf of "generic" at the grocery store for 99 cents, or you can pay up to $3.00 for the same size loaf of a brand name.
